Frequently Asked Questions
Q.How do I buy Zodiac professional products?
A.Through your local dealer or regional distributor, find them here.
Q. How do I determine which Zodiac is right for my needs?
A. Our dealers and distributors are well trained to consult with you to develop the best solution for your needs. To get an idea, start by determining whether you need an inflatable or A RIB. Then, determine the general size of vessel to suit your needs. Unless you have a very specific need, one of our standard models will offer you the best value.
Q. Where can I take my Zodiac for maintenance?
Contact the dealer or distributor that is closest to your location, find them here.
Q. At what air pressure should my boat operate?
A.Optimal operating pressure for most Zodiac inflatable boats is between 240 - 250 millibars or 3.28 - 3.62 P.S.I.
Q. Why are inflatable boats and RIBs so popular for professional applications?
A. Zodiac Inflatable boats and RIBs are considered the safest boats on the water. Combined with shock-mitigation technology, they also reduce operator fatigue and risk of injury, especially among operators who will spend their careers on the water. Finally, their tremendous load-carrying capacity makes them ideal for commercial uses.
A. Mix water and dish soap in a spray bottle, then spray your inflatable while it is inflated. Watch for small bubbles, hissing and other telltale signs. Works every time! If you still can't find the leak contact your local dealer.
Q.How do I choose between an inflatable and a RIB?
A.The primary questions are stowage and use. Inflatables deflate, stow in a small footprint, are easy to transport and airdrop. Ideal for stealthy missions where a low radar signature is desired, or if transport includes helicopter, submarine, small vessel or small vehicle. RIBs are lightweight, full size boats that don’t deflate for storage. They are trailered, moored, or stowed on larger vessels and used for missions that cover greater distances at sea, call for transporting more personnel at higher speeds, and require interdiction and/or boarding.
